Heavyweight black 12" (180g) in a microtene innerbag, printed innersleeve, 1/0 K on 220g carton (uncoated paper) download card, jacket, 1/1 K/K - black flood inside, printed on 350g carton, uncoated (matt) paper with UV spot lacquer, all assembled in a plastic overbag.

Originally released in various limited editions since early 2019, Burning Banners of the Funereal War began the saga that is WARMOON LORD. Arguably the best-kept secret of the ever-fertile Finnish black metal underground, the band is the sole work of one Lord Vrajitor, a prolific figure in the wider Finnish music underground, but also concurrently the mainman of Old Sorcery. But whereas that band largely/mostly works within the dungeon synth genre, WARMOON LORD is pure & proud black metal of a most fantastical nature - equally medieval, maybe even more so, but burning with icy-hot passion that so fired the second wave during the mythical 1990s.

 

Originally recorded in 2010-2011 with various line ups and released as a split with Sturmtiger in 2015

Originally released the "Ich hatt einen Kameraden" split with 1914 in 2016.

Originally recorded in 2013 during the "Kriegserklärung" sessions and released in 2017 as a split with Kommandant.

Since their formation in 2007, MINENWERFER have pursued a proud 'n' pure vision of black metal idiosyncratically focused on World War I - idiosyncratic, in the sense that the band hail from America but mostly sing in German. What has resulted is a startlingly accomplished canon that has quietly built itself into prolific proportions, with their first album arriving in 2010, followed by albums in 2012 and 2019, and a slew of split releases and EPs in the interim.

Of those many short-length releases, Kriegserklärung can conveniently be seen as a companion to an album release – in this case, 2012's thick-yet-throttling Nihilistischen. And yet, where that album saw MINENWERFER inching closer to a palatable professionalism, the 24-minute Kriegserklärung fully bursts through those doors with a startling clarity, setting the stage for the band's grand 2019 full-length, Alpenpäesse. Which is all to say that MINENWERFER have been mining songwriting gold for many years now!

Available again by NWN and Heidens Hart with 23 minutes of bonus material on side B, making this basically a full length at 47 minutes. All records come on white/grey/black marble vinyl and include an insert with lyrics etc. Great Pest sound at its peak.
