Emerging from the shadows in early 2021, the duo of Count Revenant and Anzillu released TWO full-lengths that year: Necuratul and Arrival of the Plague Bearer. And while both underground veterans are no strangers to black metal, the variety they unleashed with ORDER OF NOSFERAT was most definitely OLD, in every sense of the word. Undead vampiric black metal had truly arisen!
Of course, the duo wasted no time spreading their infection further, as third album Nachtmusik arrived in March 2022 - and yet again do ORDER OF NOSFERAT deliver another full-length, keeping their feverish activity to two albums a year...for now! Bearing the ever-apt title Vampiric Wrath Unleashed, this is the sound of ORDER OF NOSFERAT at their most rabid and bloodthirsty, raging forward with a barely contained violence and fully vintage rawness that harkens to such late '90s French gems as Osculum Infame's debut album or especially Winter Funeral's first demo. And yet, while the pace has quickened (just like the heartbeat of a vampire's next victim), there's another tasteful dusting of moonlit synths, and the melodicism has shifted from sad to nostalgic. Essentially, it's more of ORDER OF NOSFERAT, but proves that their plausibly idiosyncratic version of VAMPIRIC BLACK METAL is seemingly inexhaustible. Inexorable is their march, and it's more triumphant than ever: this is Vampiric Wrath Unleashed! ORDER OF NOSFERAT lineup Count Revenant - vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards Anzillu - drums

At times tragic, at times folkloric, melancholy giving way to bloodlust, Ab Amitia Pulsae proves once again that MAVORIM are uniquely adept at fully coloring within the lines of black metal with the boldest and bravest hues.
No other words are necessary: ancient-days Teutonic black metal continues to be on the rise, and EISENKULT are leading the charge with Vulgäre, deutsche Hassmusik!
The Dragging Poison is not an attempt at innovation—it is a statement of devotion. A poisoned chalice offered to those who still revere the cold, untamed essence of Black Metal as it once was: uncompromising, ritualistic, and unburdened by modernity.
Completed by a plausibly professional production that doesn't negate the raw grit of emotion, NACHTIG's Eisig' Romantik is bound to be the year's saddest black metal record - and one of the most engrossing.
If there's one certainty in these uncertain times, it's that PURITY THROUGH FIRE will continue to raise the banner of nowadays German black metal: proud and pure in its expression, honoring the past whilst not being shackled to it, and evincing a professionalism that doesn't sacrifice true underground spirit. Their latest executioners are AD MORTEM, who'll be familiar to those who caught their PURITY THROUGH FIRE-released split with standard-bearers MAVORIM in that very uncertain year of 2020. While their split-mates are true titans of today's Teutonic black metal scene, AD MORTEM proved to be a poignant counterpart, evincing an undeniable physicality that remained hook-heavy and hummable.

Svekkelse is the sixth full-length album from the Trondheim based black metal band Gjendød. The second album as a three-piece. Svekkelse continues where the previous album Livskramper quit, but this time, the band has turned it all up a notch. The band never worked with their compositions with such an intensity before.
