While traces of influences such as Eisenwinter, Rostorchester or Totale Vernichtung can still be discerned, the record distinguishes itself with a noticeably brisker tempo and an infusion of the saccharine Finnish flavor, a refreshing twist that propels the music forward.

Svekkelse continues where the previous album Livskramper quit, but this time, the band has turned it all up a notch. The band never worked with their compositions with such an intensity before.

The band plays a fast, aggressive style of black metal that would go on to be more 'polished' in later releases. But on Frühlingserwachen, the sound is still quite gritty and raw, despite decent production values, and works well with its subject matter of WWI & WWII (with some anti-religious sentiments thrown in for good measure). The band leans into this theme with vocalist Iblis credited for "propaganda" and drummer Mayhemic Destructor as "artillery," a fitting description for the drums on the album.
