The band plays a fast, aggressive style of black metal that would go on to be more 'polished' in later releases. But on Frühlingserwachen, the sound is still quite gritty and raw, despite decent production values, and works well with its subject matter of WWI & WWII (with some anti-religious sentiments thrown in for good measure). The band leans into this theme with vocalist Iblis credited for "propaganda" and drummer Mayhemic Destructor as "artillery," a fitting description for the drums on the album.

Lurking in the dankest, moldiest depths of the black metal underground, THE TRUE WEREWOLF has prolifically pursued a vision of malodorous decay and plague-ridden melancholy since 2002.
