Endlich, RUNENWACHT sind zurück mit einem neuem Album " Das letzte Geleit". Inhaltlich widmen sich die zehn Stücke erneut der nordischen und heidnischen Mythologie. Auch zentrale Themen der Edda – der bedeutenden Sammlung von Götter- und Heldensagen – finden ihren Platz und verleihen dem Album eine tiefere mythologische Dimension.

Das Album erscheint als DoppelCD im DigiPack.

The band plays a fast, aggressive style of black metal that would go on to be more 'polished' in later releases. But on Frühlingserwachen, the sound is still quite gritty and raw, despite decent production values, and works well with its subject matter of WWI & WWII (with some anti-religious sentiments thrown in for good measure). The band leans into this theme with vocalist Iblis credited for "propaganda" and drummer Mayhemic Destructor as "artillery," a fitting description for the drums on the album.
