EISENWINTER - Monumentales Scheitern CD

On this remastered sophomore album originally from 2010, Eisenwinter carves a strangely radiant blackened monument that retains the restless spirit of the band’s early years. The remaster does not polish away the grit, it sharpens its contours instead, letting the album’s fervour breathe more fully as if stirred back into flame. The record continues the trajectory set by "Verkommen, entartet und verreckt", carrying forward the same blackened yet strangely uplifting fury. Eisenwinter’s black metal is not cloaked solely in misanthropy as it burns with a rough-hewn warmth, driven by a punk-inflected urgency and a swagger that refuses stagnation. The riffs surge with a heated, almost defiant momentum, straddling the line between traditional black metal abrasion and these other sonic elements. The vocal delivery remains lightly growled lending the album a humane, breath-worn manifesto that is reinforced by marching pace that pushes the listener forward through chaos with clenched teeth and uplifted fists. In its 2025 remastered form, this album stands not merely as a documentary of Eisenwinter’s past, but as a living, breathing testament to a particular strain of black metal that thrives on a particular triumphant mood rather than grimness alone.
